How to disable and re-enable split screen on iPad?

Apple finally launched a split-screen for the iPad, enabling users to display and communicate with two different applications at the same time. When your iPad is in landscape mode, it allows you to run two applications side by side in a split-screen view. Split-screen View is a fantastic feature that allows you to run multiple apps on a single screen. Some users praised the new functionality, others preferred a more single-app oriented approach and found that the iPad’s new multitasking features were more challenging than helpful. As some users unintentionally enter Split Screen View and then find it difficult to disable it. Other iPad users may want to switch off split-screen view for a variety of reasons.

The split-screen is turned on by default on your iPad. To enable its functions, drag an app from your dock to the right or left edge of your screen to open it on a portion of the screen.

To disable split screen on the iPad, do the following:

Turn On your iPad, turn off Split Screen.

Step 1: On your iPad, open the “Settings” app.

Step 2: Choose “General” from the drop-down menu.

Step 3: Choose “Multitasking & Dock” from the set menu.

Step 4: Turn off the “Allow Multiple Apps” option.

You can see that disabling split-screen and Slide Over does not affect your iPad’s multitasking, such as having apps open in the background and using the iOS app switcher.

Both Split View and split-screen app features will be disabled once “Allow Multiple Apps” is toggled to the OFF spot.

However, there is one exception: Split Screen in Safari, which will remain enabled regardless of how the wider setting is changed since it is different from universal multitasking. If you can’t disable Split Screen in Safari explicitly, you can exit it and try to prevent doing so in the future.

It’s important to remember that turning off the “Multiple Apps” setting on the iPad would also switch off Slide Over, as the two features are part of the same multitasking suite of the functionality on iOS for iPad.

Once you have understood how to disable Split screen view, you should also learn how to re-enable it, if ever it is required for multitasking.

How to Re-Enable Split View on your iPad?

Step- 1. Go to the iPad’s “Settings” app, then to “General.”

Step- 2. Choose “Multitasking & Dock” from the drop-down menu.

Step-3. To activate Split View and Slide Over features, turn the switch next to “Allow Multiple Apps” to the ON location.

After you’ve reactivated the environment, you can return to Split screen app mode and use it as normal.

Individual preferences determine whether or not you want to allow or disable Split Screen on the iPad; some users adore the feature, while others may unintentionally enable it and get irritated by it, leaving them wondering how to get rid of split-screen mode on iPad. Choose the environment that fits best for you because it is easily adjustable.
